Optical Windows are applied to isolate different physical environments while allowing light to pass. When selecting windows you should consider materials, transmission, scattering, wavefront distortion, parallelism and resistance to certain environment. Ootee Optics offers a wide range of different materials and different degree of precision windows. Ootee Optics provides several kinds of windows for different applications. Customer designed special windows are available.
Flat Windows
Ideal for interferometer flats, laser windows, beamsplitter substrates, or parallel plates. Material: BK7 and Fused silica typically. Other Glass, Sapphire, Quartz, Germanium(Ge), Silicon(Si) are also available.
Wedge Windows
Optical wedge (Wedge Prism) is a wedge shaped piece of glass which refracts light rays, thus establishing a critical angle. Optical wedge (Wedge Prism) is a wedge shaped piece of glass which refracts light rays, thus establishing a critical angle.
IR Windows
IR Windows are Optical Windows designed for optimal performance in the Infrared (IR) spectrums. IR Windows are ideal for use in FTIR spectroscopy, in addition to thermal imaging, FLIR, or medical systems.
Float Glass Optical Windows
Float Glass Optical Windows are optical glass with polished faces that are relatively parallel and are typically used as a protective element between two environments. Float glass readily transmits visible and near-infrared wavelengths and can be used in a wide variety of applications.
Calcium Fluoride (CaF2) Windows
Calcium fluoride is often used in spectroscopic windows and lenses due to its high transmission from 250 nm to 7 μm. Its low absorption and high damage threshold make it a popular choice for excimer laser optics. Calcium fluoride’s low index or refraction allows it to be used without an anti-reflective coating. The Knoop hardness of calcium fluoride is 158.3.
Fused Silica Windows
Our precision UV Fused Silica Windows feature laser-grade surface quality and parallelism. Available uncoated, or with anti-reflection coatings optimized for the UV or visible spectrum, the superior transmission characteristics and excellent thermal properties combined with high tolerance manufacturing specifications make these windows an excellent choice for more demanding applications.
